The following is a message from Jason Mitchell (Chair of the Winterfest Carnival):

The free admission and free activity signature winter festival was enjoyed by 32,000+ young and old alike!

We would like to thank our 3rd year Title Sponsor “Storm Realty Cornwall” for their outstanding contribution, support and encouragement! A special thank you to the Iwachniuk Family and the Storm Team for taking part year after year, your contribution goes a long way in ensuring our community winter festival remains free!

I would like to thank my Board of Directors Vice-Chair Davey Bedard, Treasurer Jessica Adams, Secretary Lucie Hart, Founder/Past Chair Rod Rivette, Director Kimly Thivierge and Director Councillor Syd Gardiner for your hard work, dedication, passion and commitment to managing the largest Signature Winter Festival in our Community and surrounding area – without you this event would not be what it is today! We would like to thank the Port Theatre, Olympia Bowl, the NAV Centre, Aquatic Centre, Ed Lumley Arena and Benson Centre for hosting events on Family Day Monday! Each event was at maximum capacity! Cheers to Winterfest in Cornwall!

We would like to thank all the Entertainers that performed at Winterfest: Sky People, Flowdroidz, DX XS, Envy Night Spot DJ JT, Hip-Hop Showcase, Joel Sauve, Roxanne Delage & Mark, Jamie Heath, Chuck Leclair, Stephanie Coleman, Camil Lapointe, Jade Locker, Home Depot Workshop, Let’s talk Science, Frisotine, Tony Lee Magic Show, Stilt Walker Clown, Mr. Teeth, Bouncing Beans and the Winterfest Mascot Penguin!

We would like to thank Yves Houle for providing us with an outdoor inflatable Midway for our children to enjoy!

We would like to thank the Partir D’un Bon Pas for a very fun Tot and Craft Corner.

We would like to thank Rudy Tabak and his Team for the huge Mini Train Display. We would also like to thank Mark of Checkers Fun Factory for bringing the Inflatable Circus Maze and Human Zorb Bowling all the way from Hamilton, Ontario – what a great new addition for Winterfest!

We would like to thank Benson’s, Cardinal & Sons, Your Independent Grocer and the Optimist Club for serving more than 2000 Hot-Dogs at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

We would like to thank our amazing Media Sponsors Corus Entertainment, Standard-Freeholder, Seaway News, TVCogeco and the Local Seeker! Thank You for the superb 2013 coverage!

We would like to thank the Alexandria Festival of Lights for providing Wagon Rides, the Cornwall Community Museum for serving Hot Apple Cider, La Cabane A Sucre Festival for serving Maple Taffy, the Cornwall Colts Hockey Club for delivering an exciting Super Skills Competition and to the MINTO Skating Club for delivering a superb Figure Skating Show – These are just some of the highlighted events that make the Storm Realty Winterfest something to be proud of!

We would like to thank the entire City of Cornwall staff for their outstanding contribution and hard work in the planning and preparation of this year’s festival!

We would like to thank our more than 100 Volunteers for their efforts in sustaining such a huge festival, without you it is not possible! Your contributions are very well appreciated by the Winterfest Board of Directors and to all those who attended this year’s festivities!

We would like to thank the partnership of the Eastern Ontario Training Board, OPSEU local 464, Bell Canada, Centre de Sante, Ontario Power Generation, Club Octogone, Club Optimiste, The Kinette Club of Cornwall, Filles d’Isabelle, Cornwall Square, Sunshine Rotary Club, St. Lawrence College Student Union, Bayshore Home Health, Equipe Psycho Sociale, Cornwall Gravel, Scotiabank, Partir D’un Bon Pas and Optimist Club for your generous contribution that help offset the cost of daily activities.

We would like to thank our 3rd Year Sponsor CAS: Children’s Aid Society for their outstanding financial contribution and sponsorship of the “Children’s Aid Society Family Funzone”!

We would like to thank the more than 40 CAS volunteers that took part in the family funzone, as a highlight – thousands of children enjoyed quality face painting, non-stop entertainment and animal balloons!

The three nights of heart-pounding David Whysall International Fireworks presented by Supply Chain Management was a huge highlight of this year’s festival!

Special thanks to SCM for coming on board as a first year sponsor – three nights of fireworks would not have been made possible without you! Also, a special thank you to SCM for hosting the “Supply Chain Management Hot Chocolate Zone” – your team was amazing to work with and the amount of hot chocolate served was outstanding!

Also, the Winner of the Winterfest “Ultimate Entertainment Package” was Terry Fobert of Cornwall!

Thank you once again everyone who particpated and made Winterfest a huge success again!
