64% of homosexual youth feel unsafe at school.

How safe is your community for LGBTQ youth? In the recent national survey “Every Class in Every School,” 64% of lesbian, gay , bisexual, trans, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) students reported feeling unsafe at school.

Egale Canada Human Rights Trust, with a grant from the Ministry of Education, is currently delivering our Safer & Accepting Schools workshops to every publicly funded school in Ontario. As part of this initiative we are inviting community members and youth serving organizations to a special session to dialogue about the issues facing LGBTQ youth in our communities and to talk about how we can support each other in creating safer & more accepting spaces for all our youth in our schools and in our communities.
