Cornwall Community Police News: March 6th 2013

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- Christopher Riviere, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on March 5th, 2013 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on November 8th, 2011 he failed to attend court and a bench warrant was issued. He turned himself in to police and was held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Calvin Hope, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on March 5th, 2013 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that a General Warrant of Committal was issued for Drive while under suspension. He turned himself in to police and was held in custody until court the following day.

Cornwall, ON- Stephanie Portieous, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on March 5th, 2013 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on February 12th, 2013 she failed to attend court and a bench warrant was issued. She turned herself in to police and was released to appear in court on April 23rd, 2013.

Cornwall, ON – Jesse Benedict, 29, of Akwesasne was arrested on March 5th, 2013 on the strength of an outstanding warrant of apprehension, suspension and recommitment to custody of statutory release. He turned himself in and was transported to the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre.

THEFT

Cornwall, ON- Gerald Lamoureux, 52 of Cornwall was arrested on March 6th, 2013. It is alleged that on March 5th, 2013 he attended a Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for the items. He was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was charged with Theft under $5000 and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2013.

BAIL VIOLATION

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall Youth was arrested on March 5, 2013 for failing to appear for his fingerprints on March 4th, 2013. He attended police headquarters at which time he was charged with fail to appear for prints. He was held for a Bail Hearing. His name is not being released as per provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall Youth was arrested on March 5, 2013. It is alleged that on March 3, 2013, she and a 15-year-old female victim were at her residence when they became involved in a physical altercation. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Assault and was released to an adult to appear in court on April 18, 2013. Her name is not being released as per provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY & CAUSE A DISTURBANCE

Cornwall, ON- Kelly Allen, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on March 5th, 2013. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely; or being found anyplace where alcohol is sold save restaurants and Not to be away from my residence except with surety or to attend counseling, medical appointments, appointments with counsel, while attending AA meetings with written consent from Surety. It is alleged that on February 21st, 2013 he was away from his residence, causing a disturbance while under the influence of alcohol. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Cause a Disturbance and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day.
