Brian Lynch, President of the Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry Provincial NDP riding association, has announced that the local provincial NDP riding association will be holding their nomination meeting on Wednesday March 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Navy Veterans Association, 30 Sixth St., E., Cornwall.
Lynch stated: “The meeting will select our candidate for the next provincial election. We want to be ready when the election comes and help bring change that puts people first.”
Lynch said that Andrea Horwath and the Ontario NDP are working to get results for everyday people. “We are working to create and protect good jobs, improve public healthcare and education, and make life affordable. In addition, the NDP wants to make the Liberal Government accountable for its actions and to ensure a balanced approach to balancing the provincial budget which looks at both revenue and spending,” stated Lynch.
Prospective candidates for the nomination must submit their necessary paperwork to the Ontario NDP office by March 17.
Lynch also indicated that the annual general meetings of the SDSG provincial and federal NDP riding associations will take place in conjunction with the provincial nomination meeting on Wednesday March 27. Lynch said: “The annual general meetings will include the Presidents’ reports, financial statements, and the election of the executive members for 2013.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the NDP nomination meeting and AGMs on March 27.
