It’s no secret that styles and trends are always evolving, and almost always come back into style at some point in time. The challenge is in choosing what is best for you, which often means going to an expert.  Studio 101 owner, Louise Gendron and her staff may just be the experts you are looking for.

Studio 101 opened its doors in late 2012 at its downtown Cornwall location of 101 Pitt Street (on the corner of First and Pitt).

Ms. Gendron has always enjoyed fashion, art and chemistry, so becoming a hairstylist was a natural choice. As a licensed hairstylist, with over 30 years experience and education in Commercial Artistry, it was only natural for her to open a trend-setting studio, in the heart of the city.

“This location is exactly what I wanted” said Ms. Gendron. “It is easily accessible and visible. Clients can go shopping, have lunch and get their hair styled all in one afternoon. All of the downtown stores are very connected.”

Ms. Gendron and her staff are dedicated to finding the correct look for each client.

“The industry is always evolving and former trends are always coming back,” explained Ms. Gendron. “Our goal is to give our clients the current style they are looking for, and assure them we know what look is best for them.”

Whether walking or driving, Studio 101 is easily accessible with plenty of parking close by. The studio has a modern look, large windows, a colorful sign and bright interior. All renovations, marketing and furniture were completed or purchased regionally.

In addition to hairstyling, Studio 101 has an aesthetician on staff offering a variety of spa and personal care services.  The studio also offers a variety of products including OPI, Joico and Matrix, and they are an exclusive supplier of Kevin Murphy products.

“We carry products in all price ranges,” explained Ms. Gendron.  “Our products are affordable and are of good quality. We only carry products that I would use at home!”

“The Heart of the City is really quite vibrant and the addition of Studio 101 adds to that,” said Candy Pollard, Business Consultant with the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre.  “There is a great mix of retail and services in the Downtown core, making it a great area to do business.  We congratulate Ms. Gendron in the opening of her new salon, and in choosing to do business in Downtown Cornwall.”
