Cornwall Ontario — The Patrons of St. Columban Foundation is holding a chicken dinner fundraiser on Sunday April 6 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 in Cornwall from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for the restoration work at the historic St. Columban’s Church in Cornwall.
Brian Lynch, President of the Patrons of St. Columban Foundation has indicated that during the past 8 years the Foundation has been able to raise over $510,000 for the stabilization and restoration of St. Columban’s Church as a result of the generosity of the parishioners of St. Columban’s and the community at large.
Lynch stated: “While much work has been done on major capital repairs in recent years, there is still more work to be done. Money raised by the Foundation this year will be earmarked to pay for the re-shingling of the church roof.”
This year’s chicken dinner is one of the several ways that the Foundation raises money for the major capital repairs at St. Columban’s Church. The Foundation receives donations throughout the year, holds concerts in the church, receives bequests, and sponsors a “Remembering our Loved Ones at Christmas” program.”
Tickets $10 for the chicken dinner are available at St. Columban’s rectory during office hours, from Foundation members, by calling Brian at 613-933-8353 and at the Legion. Everyone is welcome to attend.
