South Stormont — The Township of South Stormont held their annual Volunteer Appreciation Gala at the South Stormont Community Hall on Friday, April 25. The Roaring Twenties themed event included entertainment by the Moe Lemieux Quartet with special guest Seth Grant, vintage automobiles, and guest speaker Richard Sennott. The event was an opportunity for the Township to give appreciation to 150 community volunteers representing more than 25 local Associations and Committees. The highlight of the evening was when Carson Elliott (right) received the 2013 Fran Laflamme Volunteer of the Year Award in South Stormont from Mayor, Bryan McGillis.
