Cornwall Ontario — Originally from Australia, Animalia who currently resides in Toronto, is playing a concert in Cornwall. Her music is what she calls “dark-electro”: beats, synths and bass lines interwoven with strong and sad vocal melodies.

She has been performing and touring in various bands for over a decade, but this will be her first time on tour in Canada.

“I’m really excited to check out the different cities around Ontario. Canada’s got a great music scene; it’s very vibrant and diverse.”

Garbageface hails from Peterborough, Ontario, and has been quietly touring around North America, hitting up underground venues and art spaces, for the past 5 years. Garbageface is an experimental electronic act that doesn’t fit easily into one genre.

“I usually define my music as “noise-hop” or “doom-rap” but neither totally sum up what my music is like, especially when it comes to performing.”

“Although we’re stylistically different, Animalia’s and my music have a similar vibe. It’s quite dark, content-wise.” And thus the tour was aptly called: Killing Yr Joy.

Together they will be touring Ontario with a stop in Cornwall on Wednesday, June 18th 8pm at the Cornwall Art Gallery.

“We want to see more of this in the Gallery” Says Board Chair, Carilyne Hébert. “We want to see TAG as a hub for artistic activity in this city, for all disciplines. I’m looking forward to this show and the many other future partnership opportunities with local and out of town artist.”
