The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall & District “littles” are a little happier today as the announcement was made to give each of the nearly 70 children a season pass to The Cornwall Colts home games which are now in their 22nd season. As well, their Big Brother or Big Sister will receive discounted Senior/Student rates for their passes. Owner Ian MacInnis and player Grant Cooper were on-hand with Councillor David Murphy today at the Big Brothers office to declare the news in front of a small crowd of staff, Big Brothers and Sisters as well as the club’s President Bill Makinson and Executive Director Amanda Brisson. Says Brisson, “It’s been a struggle to try to get tickets to all those wanting to go to the games. Our matches want something fun to do and this is an amazing fit and hopefully the start of a beautiful relationship which will ensure our “littles” experience lots of Jr. Hockey right here in Cornwall”.

With the Fred Page cup being hosted here in Cornwall from April 29th to May 3rd, 2015, there will be lots of excitement on and off the ice this season. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters will be holding their 20th annual “DQ Golf For Kids Sake” golf tournament next Wednesday, July 16th at the Cornwall Golf & Country Club. The event has sold out and will feature approximately 160 golfers. This event is their second biggest fundraiser. For more information about Big Brothers and Big Sisters, please contact their office at 613-933-8035. If you would like to purchase season tickets or individual game tickets, please contact the Cornwall Colts office at 613-930-9300.
