Summer Staycation at the Cottage

It’s been a well deserved two-week break.

It is important to whine down and fully recharge your batteries once in a while. Yes, it is somewhat unusual for a newspaper to shut down for summer vacation–after all, the news don’t stop–but we feel that this down time is important for many reasons, health and sanity being two major ones.

Being in paper mode is like being caught in a huge whirlwind where the weeks simply overlap one another and can’t be differentiated. The minute an issue is put to rest, we start on the next one.  We feel events are taking us where we need to be, without much control on our part.  We go with the flow.  However, stopping lets us take a step back and observe what is going on around us.  It allows us to be more of a spectator and less of a player.  It helps us analyze objectively what the next step should be.

When you look at things from the sidelines rather than from within, major revelations can sometimes occur.  Such revelations happened with the Seeker, hence our two major news.

The first BIG NEWS  is that for the first three weeks of September, we will be doing door to door trial runs.  If you are in Cornwall, you should be receiving a Complimentary Seeker a least once during that time.  We will target different areas each week in order to cover the entire city.  We also will deliver to strategic pick up locations as far East as Lancaster, North to Moose Creek and West to Cardinal.  We will double our production and extend our reach.  Isn’t that great?  Depending on the results, we may make this a permanent venture, so let us know what you think when you do get it…

The second BIG NEW  is that the Seeker is taking on Brockville.  We have already launched the online version of the paper and are looking at October for the print version.  We already have a good team in place and are looking forward to serving the Brockville Community with their Monthly dose of positive news…

All that in two weeks!  And now, the loop starts over again.  I can hardly wait to see what ideas will sprout out of the next vacation time…
