Poetry Slam Workshop and Competition featuring Sean O Gorman

YAC Your Arts Council CornwallCornwall Ontario — YAC, Aultsville Theatre & the SLC Cornwall Student Union will be hosting a poetry slam and poetry slam workshop.

Poet Sean O’Gorman, who is originally from Finch, will be speaking at this workshop. Sean O’Gorman finished 2nd place in the rankings for the Most Valuable Poet of the year award at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in 2011.

“We are excited to invite such talented spoken word artists to Cornwall and SDG”, says Bruce Davis who is Executive Director of Your Arts Council.

The workshop will be capped off with an awesome poetry slam competition featuring 12 of the nation’s top poetry slam artists.

The event takes place Saturday, September 27th from 2:30pm to 8:00pm. The work shop takes places from 2:30pm to 4:30pm in Room 342 at St. Lawrence College. The poetry slam takes places from 6pm to 8pm at The Shark Tank on campus.

The work shop costs $10 or $5 for YAC members. SLC students can get in for only $8 with the student discount. Space is limited to 25 seats for the workshop. To register for the workshop email Bruce Davis: [email protected]
