The Association recognizes that marketing a community is an integral part of the economic development profession, therefore provides The Marketing Canada Awards competition as an opportunity to exchange and review promotional literature and other marketing material produced by municipalities across the country. This awards program is open to those organizations that undertake to promote and market Canadian provinces, territories, regions, cities, towns and areas with a view to improving the economic well-being of Canadians.

Ontario East Economic Development was recognized during the Economic Developers Association of Canada’s 46th National Conference, with an award for its Promotional Video “Move to Ontario East – Lifestyle Promotion” submission to the “2014 Marketing Canada Awards”. Rob Hunter, Economic Development Officer for North Dundas and Treasurer for Ontario East was present to accept the award stating “as Treasurer, I was very happy to accept this prestigious award on behalf of Ontario East”. This year’s awards program, consisting of twelve (12) sub-categories, attracted one hundred and fifty (150) submissions from across Canada.

Ontario East Economic Development Commission promotes Eastern Ontario as a centre for investment. Ontario East represents over 200 communities, including the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG).
