Cornwall Ontario – United Way/ Centraide of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry has reached 50% of its $707,070 goal for the 2014 Annual Campaign.
“The Community has been very generous as always, however, there is still work to do”, said Nolan Quinn, 2014 Campaign Chair. “It takes a tremendous effort to reach the campaign goal and we would like to thank all of our hard working volunteers who are giving their time and energy to our Campaign. We greatly appreciate the generosity of all those who have donated so far. We continue to require support for the Campaign, which ends on December 19th”.
The Corus Cares Holiday Wine and Gourmet Tastings Event raised over $38,000 to help push the campaign figure to the 50% mark. “This is an important fundraising event for the United Way – it helps to profile and create awareness for the work they do all year long supporting 16 agencies and 19 programs”, states Angie Baker, Corus Wine Event Committee Member. “The success of this event simply would not have been possible without the generosity of almost 100 local business sponsors and the community who made this a MUST attend holiday event. Thank you for believing in YOUR COMMUNITY!” The event took place on Saturday November 22nd with over 400 guests enjoying an assortment of wonderful wines and tasty treats, while enjoying music and dancing to kick-off the holiday season.
“We would like to thank the community for the brilliant support so far”, said Lori Greer, Executive Director of United Way. “We have three weeks remaining to the end of our Campaign and look forward to further support to help us reach our goal. We believe in our community and greatly appreciate the generosity of our donors”!
