UCSF 2014 winners (DSC_0360)If you are a student or the parent of a student from a school in any of the three United Counties of Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry or the District of Akwesasne then the annual Science Fair may be your chance to explore the world of science and technology by completing a science related poster or project and exhibiting it at the fair on April 11th, 2015.

Members of the organizing committee as well as finalists from last year’s fair will be on hand to answer any questions you may have at their information booth at the Cornwall Square Saturday January 31st from 10am to 2pm.

 

Projects cover the spectrum from Agriculture to Zoology, with anything and everything in between! Come down and visit our display at the Cornwall Square on Saturday January 31st to find out more about this exciting event!

 

Students from grades 1 to 5 may enter the “Science on the Wall” poster contest and students from grades 6 to 12 may enter a project for the science fair. Posters are eligible for prizes while projects are eligible for awards, prizes, scholarships and (for grades 7 to 12) a chance to win an all-expense-paid trip to the Canada Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, New Brunswick from May 9th to 16th, 2015.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the United Counties Science Fair which is a non-profit charitable organization run by a team of volunteer teachers and parents. The organization’s goals are to encourage students to explore some of the many fields of science and to help students develop creative critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
