Colts-Richelieu-FBCornwall – The Cornwall Colts were pleased to enhance child literacy at Richelieu Childcare in Cornwall with the launch of the Centre’s Literacy Program on Family Literacy Day (January 27th).

Colts players will continue participating in the program once a week for the next several weeks as they encourage children to read by making it a fun activity.

Colts players also had the opportunity to volunteer during this past weekend’s Cornwall Minor Hockey Association Bantam/Midget tournament. Most of the players spent some time volunteering for the CMHA at the Benson Centre Friday and Sunday.

The Cornwall Motor Speedway also welcomed Tristan Conrad, Dean Derouchie and Nick Lalonde as their Circuit Pro Tour Snowmobile Racing event this past weekend. The three players were on hand to meet with race fans and signed some autographs.

On the ice, the Colts (30-15-4-2, 66 points) play host to the Smiths Falls Bears (26-19-2-4, 58 points) Thursday night at the Ed Lumley Arena. It’s an important game for the Colts as they look to move one step closer to securing home ice advantage for the first round of the CCHL playoffs just over one month away.

Game time is 7:30pm.
