Cornwall.ca — The City of Cornwall would like to advise motorists that American Bridge Canada has closed Second Street West at Brookdale Avenue to continue work on the removal of the high-level bridge.
The closure started on Monday, May 25th and it is expected to remain in place until Monday, June 15th, subject to favourable weather conditions.
The closure period has been extended in order to allow for the removal of the concrete bridge pier immediately south of Second Street. This will eliminate the need for an additional traffic disruption at a later date.
During the closure period, Brookdale Avenue will remain open to northbound and southbound traffic. Meanwhile, traffic on Second Street West will be detoured via Brookdale Avenue, Seventh Street and Hoople Avenue.
The City of Cornwall and American Bridge Canada would like to thank all motorists for their patience and cooperation while this work is carried out.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact American Bridge Canada at (613) 932-0800.
