Nav Centre Corwnall OntarioCornwall Ontario – In just a few short weeks, over 350 Lions will descend on the city of Cornwall.

They will be in town for the District A-4 Lions Club Annual Convention which takes place April 15 – 17 at the NAV Centre. The theme for the convention will focus on Lions and youth.

“This is a new venue for us – and our committee is working on the program that will include something for all Lions and partners,” says Kris Schulz, Governor of District A4. “The food will be exceptional, the accommodation outstanding and the company … well, they just cannot be beat!”

District A4 is comprised of 68 Lions Clubs in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. There are 10 active clubs in SDG, with 3 clubs in the immediate Cornwall area with dozens of active members:

  • Cornwall Lions Club – meets 2nd 4th Tuesday at the Best Western Parkway Inn
  • Cornwall Seaway Lions Club – meets 4th Wednesday of the month at the Comfort Inn
  • Cornwall Township Lions Club –  1st and 3rd Mondays – 17413 McPhail Rd

“We are looking forward to welcoming our fellow Lions and showcasing what is happening in the Cornwall area,” says Colleen Carter, one of the local committee members.

The Cornwall Lions Club celebrated 75 years of serving the community in 2015. Its members are well known in the community for supporting and a variety of causes, and it holds the popular Sports Awards Banquet every May.

The Seaway Lions Club is the host of the ever popular Ribfest, which returns to Lamoureux Park this July.
