The overarching theme for the week is “Shift the Conversation” which means changing to a more comprehensive approach of looking at our health and wellness. It means speaking beyond illness by taking into account the big picture and considering our overall quality of life where we live, learn, work and play. It means helping people stay healthy and well rather than responding only after they become ill. This year’s special emphasis is on “People and Communities First.”

Seaway Valley Community Health Centre will be demonstrating how it is “Shifting the Conversation” and focusing on people and communities by having a proclamation and flag raising ceremony on Monday September 26th at 11:00am at the Justice Building. There will also be a kiosk at the Cornwall Square featuring a presentation of the programs and services on Tuesday September 27th from 10am to 5pm. Finally there will be a community walk with Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie starting at 11:00 am on Friday September 30th at Seaway Valley Community Health Centre on 353 Pitt Street, followed by a luncheon at noon.
