Cornwall Colts extend winning streak to 8 and Liam Lascelle CCHL Player of the Week

Cornwall Ontario – Colts Captain Grant Cooper had a 3 point night to lead Cornwall to a 6-4 win over Nepean at the Ed Lumley Arena.

The win extends the Colts winning streak to 8 games.

Cooper added two assists to go along with his team leading 20th goal of the season as the Colts improve to 25-12-1-3 for 54 points and 3rd overall in the CCHL standings.

Alexander Montelone scored his first goal as a Colt and added an assist. Dean Derouchie (13), Keegan Mulhearn (5), Shawn Baird (4) and JD Pogue (12) also scored for the Colts.

The Raiders outshot the Colts 36-33 with Liam Lascelle picking up the win in goal.

Colts net minder Liam Lascelle has been named the CCHL Player of the Week.

Last week The Cornwall Colts goalie stopped 78 of 79 shots fired his way to backstop the Colts to back-to-back victories over Hawkesbury and Brockville.

Lascelle has been in goal during the Colts current seven game winning streak posting a sparkling .952 save percentage over that span.

Overall this season, Lascelle is 17-9-0-2 with 3 shutouts, 2.38 goals against average and .923 save percentage.

The Colts are in sole possession of 3rd overall in the CCHL with a record of 24-12-1-3 for 52 points.

The Colts are back in action Thursday night when they host the Nepean Raiders. Game time is 7:30pm at the Ed Lumley Arena.
