Cornwall Ontario — A new initiative of the ACFO-SDG, the project “Fou rire collectif!” (Collective Giggles) is aimed at all french speaking budding comics, as well as novice stage enthusiasts, who are aged 19 years old and over, residing in Ontario.
Whether or not you already have a comedy number, or any stagehand experience, free training is offered to all participants. Starting today and until February 28, you will be able to register for this training through the website.
The training, led by Juste pour rire Management and by professionals, will take place in March and April. It is an experience of collective creation framed for beginner comics and enthusiastic technicians, in the context of a friendly and playful competition.
The project offers new comics a unique opportunity to benefit from a professional comedy training with a personalized follow-up. For technicians, this project represents an exceptional opportunity to learn or deepen their knowledge of the performing arts. No experience is required to register and training is free!
At the end of the training, community comedy evenings will be held during the month of May in the Ottawa-Orleans, Cornwall and Hawkesbury areas. They will be followed, at the beginning of June, by a final gala presented in the Ottawa-Orléans region, where the favorites of this first edition will be primed.
The project “Fou rire collectif!” is proposed by ACFO-SDG with the support of the federal government, in particular the Ministère du Patrimoine canadien, under the Développement des communautés de langue officielle program, in the Vie communautaire division.
Several partners are involved in this project, such as Juste pour rire Management, the Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO), Théâtre Action, Improtéine, and Amalgame des arts de la langue française et du théâtre of Cornwall, La Barouette of Casselman and the Théâtre d’la place of Rockland community theaters.
