Cornwall Colts down Kemptville 73s on home ice

Cornwall Ontario – Chris Theodore’s team leading 7th goal of the season with 3:21 left in the 3rd pushed the Cornwall Colts to a 5-3 victory over the Kemptville 73’s.

Evan Bidenti iced the victory with his first goal of the season into an empty net with just over one minute left to play.

Cameron Hebert (2) had a goal and an assist for the Colts who improve to 4-4-0-0 (8pts). Keegan Mulhearn (4) and David Poirier (2) also scored for Cornwall.

Mike Carr made 37 saves to earn the victory. His record improves to 2-0-0-0.

Kemptville outshot Cornwall 40-33.

The Cornwall Toyota Hardest Working Colts player was Cameron Hebert.

The Pizza Pizza Three Stars were First Star Chris Theodore (COR), Second Star Cameron Hebert (COR) and Third Star Tyson Kirkby (KEMP).

The two teams wrap up their home and home series Sunday afternoon when the Colts travel to Kemptville. Game time is 2pm.

The Colts then travel to Ottawa to take on the Jr. Senators next Wednesday night before returning home to face off against CCHL leading Carleton Place. It’s Colts vs Canadians next Thursday, September 28th @ Ed Lumley Arena. Game time is 7:30pm.
