August 13, 2018 – The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce today announced it will host a Candidate Debate leading to the October municipal election. The forum will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at the Cornwall Civic Complex in partnership with Your TV.

“Because of the numbers running for Council, the Chamber has adjusted the format for the event,” reports Todd Lihou, the Chamber’s Political Advisory Chair. “The event will consist of two parts: candidates for Councilor presenting their platforms on taped interviews on Your TV followed by a Mayoralty debate.”

Candidate Debate set for May 25th

Each of the candidates for Councilor will be invited to present their platforms on a taped message with Your TV. These messages will then be aired by the community television station leading up to the election. Council candidates will be on hand at the Complex for a meet and greet beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the public are invited to attend.

“The Mayoral debate will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be televised, live on Your TV,” continues Lihou. “The debate will consist of two parts, a series of questions for each of the four candidates posed by a media panel and then, an opportunity for those in the audience to ask questions of the candidates.”

These pre-election forums are presented by the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and Your TV as a community service to both the business community and the community at large.
