Eileen DeCourcy is the new Senior Vice President – Academic and joined SLC in mid-November. Her background includes broad experience in a number of academic roles, most recently as Associate Vice President of Teaching and Learning at Humber College in Toronto. In her ten years at Humber, Eileen drove improvements to support the ever-evolving needs of students and faculty, helping to roll out technology-enabled learning, and developing a mobile/digital learning plan.

As SLC’s Senior Vice President, Academic, Eileen will integrate and align high quality teaching and learning with the functions of Innovation, Business Engagement and Applied Research. Eileen will join a team of engaged faculty, experienced academic leaders, and dedicated staff, where she will champion academic excellence and quality, enable new and existing program development, and support collaborative and innovative learning and applied research opportunities for SLC faculty and students.

Kathy O’Brien is the new Senior Vice President, Strategy, Communications & Advancement, and joined SLC in early December. Kathy has broad experience in senior leadership roles from both the public and private sector. Most recently, Kathy served as Associate Vice-Principal (International) at Queen’s University where she was responsible for developing and implementing the first comprehensive international strategy for the university and creating new marketing, communication, and alumni engagement strategies to support and expand global reach and enhance the student learning experience. Kathy is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Bureau of International Education. In addition, Kathy has six years of experience serving on our very own SLC Board of Governors.

In her new role as SLC’s Senior Vice President, Strategy, Communications & Advancement, Kathy will lead the team responsible for initiatives in the areas of strategic enrolment management, corporate planning, corporate communications, government relations, registrar services, marketing, student recruitment and fundraising/development. This includes leading the overall strategic and business planning process for SLC and collaborating with the academic division and other senior staff to provide leadership. Kathy will also be a strategic champion of such things as community engagement, alumni and development plans, and student enrolment.

“We’re very excited to welcome these two new members to our team,” said SLC President and CEO, Glenn Vollebregt. “As we begin the process of developing our new strategic plan, we are thrilled to have their leadership, experience, fresh energy, and ideas to help continue moving St. Lawrence College forward.”
