OUT AND ABOUT WITH SEEKER CHICK MAI-LIIS. During this past week I went for a walk and stopped by to check out the wonderful work of local Artist and Photographer Jacqueline Milner. The mural, called “The L♥ve Project” is located behind the library in the parking lot along the east fence line. There are 8 panels which come together under this description written below them. “We are all interconnected! Each and every life, habitat and mineral has a gift to give the living whole”. This is a gift to the community, celebrating community”. says Jacqueline.

TODAY, Saturday, (June 20th) Jacqueline Milner invites you all to “come walk, bike or drive by” as this project is part of The National Arts Drive By and Jacqueline will be there from 4 to 7pm to talk about the inspiration behind this work. She says “I’ll be practicing social distancing, and will have my mask on to protect each and every one of you”.

The National Arts Drive, is an online & offline grassroots movement and fundraising campaign to bring awareness and financial support to local artists on a national scale.  It encourages artists, in select cities across the U.S, Canada and Mexico to display, perform and showcase their creativity from driveways, balconies, windows, stoops, front lawns, or participating local small businesses (where applicable and safe) during a three-hour period – keeping in mind social distancing measures that are still in place.

So plan to stop by with the whole family and check out this wonderful piece that certainly made my afternoon a lot better as I stood there with the breeze blowing through my hair and took in the aroma of fresh grass, ferns and greenery growing under the panels. I certainly needed this break to get me away from my computer and home office!!! – You need to check this mural out in person today between 4 and 7pm.
