Cornwall – The Board of Directors of the Centre for the Arts Collective, the organization behind the Much Needed Cornwall & Area Arts Hall of Fame is extending the nomination period for 2020.

The induction ceremony, which usually takes place in October, has been postponed and will be combined with the 2021 event, due to Covid-19 imposed restrictions. Submissions for consideration will therefore continue to be accepted.

The nominees must qualify in one or more of the following areas of achievement.

  • Significant contribution to the development of the arts and the cultural life in Cornwall, the United Counties of SDG, Akwesasne, and where appropriate, on national or international platforms.
  • Contribution made by the nominee to one or more of the following artistic expressions: the performing arts (music, theatre and dance), literary, visual and media arts.
  • Recognition and success experienced by the nominee and his/her positive impact on local, national and/or international art scene.
  • The breadth and innovation within the local and Canadian “cultural tapestry” shown by the nominee. 

This award is the highest award currently presented to a living or deceased artists or contributor in the arts.
