Like many other events the annual Cornwall and Area Job Fair is pivoting to the virtual world due to Covid-19 restrictions. “Because of our current situation we are unable to host our usual in person job fair. However, we still recognize the need to bring together local employers and job seekers and we hope to do that successfully in a virtual world.” Says Carilyne Hébert, Executive Director of the Social Development Council (SDC)

The Employability Network which is a working group of the Social Development Council organizes the annual job fair which usually takes place at the Cornwall Civic Complex and sees hundreds of job seekers attend.

This year, the job fair will take place at www.sdccornwall.ca/careers. From November 9th to 15th, you will find professionally created videos by employers hiring today and service providers ready to help you with training and employment support. From positions in health care, to finance, transportation, factory work, administration and much more there is something for everyone. A new career is just a click away.

“Many of Cornwall’s major employers continue to invest in their operations and expand their workforce,” says Bob Peters of Cornwall Economic Development. “These videos are an excellent way for job seekers to get to know these companies better.”
