The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is holding its first pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Cornwall on Monday, July 5th from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or while supplies last. The clinic will be held at the Benson Centre (800 Seventh Street West, Cornwall) and will be open to all residents aged 12 and over from the United counties of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott-Russell, as well as the City of Cornwall and Akwesasne.
Vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis. The EOHU encourages interested individuals to enter the parking lot via Second Street starting at 7:30 A.M. Wrist bands will be handed out to the people in line and individuals will be told at what time to return for their vaccine.
Area residents can attend a pop-up clinic to receive either their first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The health unit’s pop-up clinic will offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, though youths aged 12 to 17 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine. Depending on vaccine availability, individuals attending clinics for their second dose may not receive the same vaccine they received as a first dose. Individuals attending a pop-up clinic for a second dose must be eligible based on the monograph requirements.
Individuals who intend to receive a vaccine at a pop-up clinic are encouraged to complete the province’s COVID-19 self-assessment on the morning of the clinic and to have their result in hand when they are on site. The EOHU encourages the public to monitor its website and social media accounts before coming to the clinic as the health unit will indicate when all vaccines have been assigned.
Residents from outside the EOHU’s area will not be accepted at the pop-up clinics and will be directed to book an appointment through the provincial vaccine booking system instead.
