Family Day 2022 — what’s open, what isn’t

Family Day is upon us once more and with it comes some changes to the services offered by the City.

On Monday, February 21, municipal offices will be closed.

Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by a day. So, if your collection is typically on a Monday, it will be on Tuesday this week, and so on and so forth. The landfill will also be closed on February 21. Click here for the waste calendar.

Cornwall Transit will not be operating on Family Day, and transit offices will be closed.

Although the walking track at the Civic Complex will be closed, the Cornwall Colts will take on the Brockville Braves at the Ed Lumley Arena, at 3 p.m.

Outdoor Activities

Big Ben Ski Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. Skiers and snowboarders of all ages will be able to take part in several activities for free!

Weather-permitting, residents are encouraged to enjoy outdoor rinks throughout the City (click here for rink locations).

Guindon Park’s cross-country ski and snowshoe trails are also always free to use (click here for trail map).

The Aquatic Centre will be open for a leisure swim from 1 p.m. to 2:25 p.m. (Swim fees range from $5.12 for adults to $4.46 for accessibility. (click here for full details)

The Benson Centre will be open and will offer several public skating sessions throughout the day. (click here for full details and schedule)

The Cornwall Public Library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following special events will be taking place (click here for full details):

10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.: La Guerre des clans (virtuel)

10 a.m.- 11:45 a.m.: Family Movie: Encanto

12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m. Virtual Tea and Talk

12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.: Family Movie: Jungle Cruise

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Virtual Family Feud

2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Film en famille: Raya et le dernier dragon
