South Stormont, ON – On Monday, October 24th, the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections were held across the province to elect new municipal councils and school board trustees for the term of 2022-2026.
The Township of South Stormont election included races for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor (x3) and the English Public School Board Trustee.
Votes were collected online from October 19 – 24, through in-person advanced poll opportunities at the Township Office from October 19 – 23, and finally at four in-person voting locations throughout the Township on election day.
In total, 4,536 votes were cast, with 2,881 votes collected online and 1,655 in person. This represents a 42% voter turnout for eligible voters in South Stormont.
After results were tabulated and confirmed, the results were as follows.
