Cornwall, Ontario – Free Comic Book Day proved once again to be a major success at Fantasy Realm in Downtown Cornwall. Comic book and pop culture fans flocked to the store on Saturday, May 6, eager to snag some free comics from the industry’s top publishers and discover new storylines for the summer.
The 22nd edition of the event in Cornwall saw over 350 people visit the store to browse through a selection of over forty comic book titles. Fans were delighted to find a variety of genres and themes, ranging from superheroes to pop culture titles.
The turnout was incredible with a long lineup outside the store and people waited patiently for their chance to enter. The community’s support was felt by the store’s owner, Randy Sauve, who expressed his gratitude on social media: “It was another incredible turnout for Free Comic Book Day at Fantasy Realm. A big thank you to the community for always supporting this great event.”

For local artist Jade Thompson, the event is a must-visit each year. “I try to stop by every year. The shop is absolutely buzzing with excitement and joy – the love of comics brings everyone together. It’s wonderful that there is zero pressure to buy anything, but of course I always support Randy’s shop when I can. Fantasy Realm has been a staple of Cornwall for some time now.”
