Cornwall, Ontario – Cornwall and area residents are gearing up for the highly anticipated annual event, Stuff the Bus, which aims to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need. Today, on Wednesday, June 21, from 6 am to 7 pm, Fresh 104.5 FM and Boom 101.9 FM, in collaboration with Cornwall Transit and Your Independent Grocer, invite the community to participate in this charitable initiative at Baxtrom’s Your Independent Grocer.

The Agapè Centre, a prominent local organization that provides vital support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, will be the primary beneficiary of the event. In an effort to assist their noble cause, the organizers are encouraging everyone to contribute non-perishable food items or make monetary donations.

Boxes of cereal, jars of peanut butter, pasta, cans of vegetables, and soup are among the suggested non-perishable food items. These donations will help the Agapè Centre continue its mission of providing nutritious meals to vulnerable individuals in the community.

Additionally, the Optimist Club will be present at the event, hosting a BBQ from 10 am to 4 pm, adding to the festive atmosphere and offering attendees the opportunity to enjoy some delicious food while supporting a great cause.

Fresh 104.5 radio host Victoria Arsenault, expressing her excitement about the event, said, “Come join us at Your Independent Grocery for a great cause! I look forward to Stuff the Bus each year. The community support helps support the Agapè Centre. Please come out and make a donation.”

This year marks the 8th annual Stuff the Bus event, and the community is eager to surpass the achievements of previous years. In 2022, the event collected an astounding 8,700 pounds of food, equivalent to two fully loaded Cornwall Transit buses, and received $7,600 in cash donations for The Agapè Centre. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the community can surpass those impressive numbers this year.

Cornwall, known for its tight-knit community and generous spirit, has continually risen to the challenge in the past. With the residents’ unwavering support, the organizers and volunteers behind Stuff the Bus are confident that this year’s event will be a great success. So, head over to Baxtrom’s Your Independent Grocer, at 23 Ninth Street East, today between 6 am and 7 pm. Bring your non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation to help Stuff the Bus and support the Agapè Centre’s mission to alleviate hunger in Cornwall.
