The Chamber of Commerce recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), during which members gathered to review the year’s accomplishments and strategize for the future. It was at this event that the new board was elected, reflecting a commitment to diversity and innovative leadership in steering the Chamber’s objectives.
The Chamber proudly welcomes the new and returning board members for 2024. This diverse group of leaders is poised to drive innovation, growth, and prosperity in the local community.
New members have been added to the board, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that are expected to enrich strategic discussions and enhance the initiatives the chamber undertakes. Joining the board this year are:
- Cristian Urroz, taking on the role of President at Urroz,
- Eric Tremblay as Vice-President from MNP,
- Jaclyn Cecereu, serving as Treasurer/Secretary for PWL Capital,
- Kristin Davey from The Happy Popcorn Co.,
- Grant Edwards of On the Ink Screen Printing,
- Amy Malyon at Beyond 21,
- Maxwell Ming from Ming & Associates,
- Patrick Mulligan leading PM Promotions,
- Gabriel Riviere-Reid of Cogeco,
- Brock Wilson from Wilson Architectural, and
- Martha Woods of the Eastern Ontario Training Board.
Their diverse backgrounds are expected to significantly contribute to the chamber’s goals.
The Chamber also expresses deep gratitude to departing board members Gina Scandrett, Kelsey White, Kristen MacDonell, Louise Gendron, Nicholas Seguin, and Scott Fines. Each played a crucial role in past successes and advocated passionately for economic advancement. As they move on to new challenges, they receive the chamber’s warmest wishes for their future endeavors and thanks for their unwavering commitment and service.
Returning board members are equally important, providing continuity and invaluable experience that will guide the chamber through future endeavors. Their continued dedication and leadership are foundational to ongoing success.
The Board of Directors will continue to champion the interests of local businesses by fostering collaboration and advocating for policies that spur economic growth. It also gives business owners opportunity to get visibility by hosting monthly pub nights and yearly trade shows.
The chamber looks forward to a productive year, aiming to make a lasting impact on Cornwall and its surrounding areas. Together, they anticipate a year of significant achievement and community engagement.
