Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with the following:
- Domestic assault
- Sexual assault
- Mischief under $5,000
On Dec. 5, 2025, a Cornwall Police Service officer was dispatched to a sexual assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Oct. 22, 2025, the youth sexually assaulted his girlfriend, physically assaulted her, and damaged her property. As a result of the investigation, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
On Oct. 28, 2025, members of the CPS were dispatched to a threat’s complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is further alleged he was in possession of an edged weapon and made threats to individuals known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a warrant was issued for the youth’s arrest on the following charges:
- Three counts of fail to comply with sentence order
- Three counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
On Jan. 30, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matters. The warrant was executed and he was charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, and charged with operation while prohibited. On Jan. 30, 2026, a member of the CPS initiated a traffic stop in the area of Tollgate Road, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle despite being prohibited from driving in Canada. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 10, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, RESIST PEACE OFFICER, ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with sentence order
- Resist peace officer
- Assault peace officer
It is alleged on Jan. 28, 2026, and on Jan. 29, 2026, the youth was bound by a sentence order with the relevant condition requiring him to remain at his residence between specified hours. It is also alleged that on both dates, the youth violated his curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
On Jan. 30, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a personal welfare check, and an investigation ensued. The youth was located and it is further alleged he resisted arrest and assaulted police. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Jan. 29, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court as per undertaking. On Jan. 30, 2026, he attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and the man was released to appear in court on March 10, 2026.

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Dec. 17, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking. It is further alleged on Jan. 15, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court as per undertaking. On Jan. 30, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrants were executed and she was held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 30, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs as well as operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). On Jan. 30, 2026, a CPS officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Marlborough Street, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Vars, ON, was arrested on Jan. 31, 2026, and charged with four counts of fail to comply with release order. On Jan. 31, 2026, police responded to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside with a surety at a specific address in Vars, ON, to notify the officer in charge of any change of address, to not contact or communicate in any way with his girlfriend and to not be with in 100 metres of where she lives, works or frequents. It is further alleged the man was residing with his girlfriend in the City of Cornwall and failed to notify police of the change in address. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 31, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Jan. 31, 2026, the woman attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was released to appear in court on March 10, 2026.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 1, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs as well as operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). In the early morning hours of Feb. 1, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to the area of Thirteenth Street West for a possible impaired driver. The ensuing investigation revealed the woman was allegedly operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 1, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On Feb. 1, 2026, members of the CPS were dispatched to an intimate partner violence call, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not contact or communicate with her ex-boyfriend and to not be within 30 metres of any place she knows him to live, work or frequent. It is further alleged she was in contact with the man. The woman was located by members of the CPS. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 1, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Feb. 1, 2026, the man attended the CPS to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 10, 2026.
