August 28th marked the conclusion of the season for Arts in the Park. Although it ended on a wet note thanks to Mother Nature, the 40th Anniversary celebration dubbed “Arts in the Park – Pitt Street Edition” proceeded as planned.
Local vendors and artists were set up on both sides of Pitt and First Streets. In the beer tent, patrons huddled to listen to the live performers, their spirits undampened.
The concert opened with solo folk/blues singer-songwriter, Gordie Tentrees, who sang accompanied by his guitar and harmonica. His songs are inspired by personal experiences such as his days as a boxer, raising his daughter, and his difficult past. He shared a few of these stories in between songs.
The Young Bucks, a Rock/Country cover band hailing from Ottawa, were next. With strong musical skills, the band delivered a broad repertoire of engaging songs. It was a good send off to the 2025 season. Until next year…
