The Seaway Valley Theatre Company kicks off its twentieth anniversary season by inviting you to attend the 2025 edition of their annual fundraiser, “Sixth and Broadway: Celebrate the ‘60s.”
Now in its third successful year, this musical review will celebrate the 1960s with songs from Broadway shows that either debuted or feature life in the ‘60s. With live musicians and a powerhouse cast, they’ll lift your spirits and get your toes tapping. Packed with hits from legendary shows from “Hair” to “Hairspray,” from “Little Shop of Horrors” to “Jersey Boys,” there will be something for everyone. Whether you’re a longtime Broadway lover or discovering these classics for the first time, you’ll be swept away by the magic, the memories, and the music. It’s a night of fun you won’t want to miss!
The production team behind last year’s “Sixth and Broadway: The Sequel” have all returned to their roles for more. Show creators and directors, Cathy Durham and Lesley Ellam, have once again assembled a playlist of iconic and memorable songs you’re sure to absolutely love. SVTC president, Lise Richer, serves again as producer, lending her invaluable organizational prowess to the show. The musical director is Penny Bédard, back leading a trio of Cornwall’s finest musicians. And featured in the cast are twenty performers who you’re sure to know well from past, present, and forthcoming SVTC productions.
“Sixth and Broadway: Celebrate the ‘60s” will be staged at the Seaway Valley Theatre, 30 Sixth Street East, Cornwall, for a run of six performances on select dates and times from September 26th to October 4th. Reserved seats are $30.00 and can be bought in advance online at svtc.theticketwicket.ca or by phone at 613-933-3998. Optionally, for an additional $18.00, you can partake in a special Appy Hour before the opening night performance on September 26th.
Tickets will also be available at the door from one hour before curtain time, but the company strongly recommends that you buy them in advance and get them early to avoid disappointment. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
All proceeds from this event will go to the SVTC’s building fund, future productions, and other theatre related activities.
