LTE: A Reminder to Parents: Helmets and Supervision Save Lives

This afternoon I was on my routine walk down Second Street towards downtown. This is the time when it is rush hour and almost every major street has a lot of traffic. So I saw about 5 or 6 kids on bicycles without helmets on Second Street between Marlborough and Gloucester. All of them can’t be more than 10 or 11 years old.

Obviously, children are children. They were all laughing, smiling, talking, and zigzagging along the road, oblivious to the traffic. And they were not even wearing helmets, like I said, and if there was traffic, an accident could happen.

I don’t understand why parents have become so careless?

Why do they let such young children go on such a busy road? God forbid, if an accident happens, they will be regret for life. Please please be careful.
