WOMAN FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES INVOLVING HISTORICAL SEXUAL ABUSE
Cornwall, ON – A 52-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 17, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years or age
- Sexual assault with a weapon on a person under 16 years
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Sexual interference
- Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age
- Sexual exploitation
- Intimidation – use or threatens use of violence
- Criminal negligence causing bodily harm
On Feb. 3, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service began investigating a report of historical sexual abuse involving the woman and a family member.
The investigation revealed the accused committed a series of sexual and violent offences involving a person under the age of 16. The allegations include sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, assault and the use of an edged weapon during certain offences. It is further alleged the accused uttered threats to cause death or bodily harm to the victim and members of the victim’s family.
As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest.
On Feb. 17, 2026, she was located by CPS detectives. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested on Feb. 18, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Jan. 3, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting. It is further alleged on Jan. 11, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting. On Feb. 18, 2026, the man was located by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrants were executed and he was later released to appear in court on March 26, 2026.
THEFT, THEFT FROM MAIL, FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 18, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with the following:
- Theft under $5,000
- Theft from mail
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged on Dec. 30, 2025, the woman attended a McConnell Avenue business and stole lottery tickets. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
It is also alleged on Feb. 12, 2026, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting.
It is alleged on Feb. 15, 2026, the woman stole an individual’s mail. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
It is further alleged on Feb. 17, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged on this date, the woman attended a Marlborough Street business on two separate occasions, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police once again developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest.
On Feb. 18, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrant was executed, the woman was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 26, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 18, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with the following:
- 13 counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Three counts of breach of recognizance
- Three counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged between Oct. 28, 2025, and Dec. 19, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer within 24 hours of her release from custody and within two working days of her release from custody, as well as a second probation order with the relevant condition to report in person to a probation officer within two working days of her release from custody. She failed to do so.
It is alleged on Nov. 5, 2025, the woman was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. She was also bound by two separate recognizances, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended the Second Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.
It is alleged on Dec. 18, 2025, the woman was bound by two separate probation orders, each with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Second Street East business. She was also bound by a recognizance with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended the Second Street East business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.
It is alleged on Dec. 2, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court while on release order.
It is alleged on Dec. 25, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Thirteenth Street West business. She was also bound by a second probation order as well as a recognizance, each with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest on the charges of:
- Three counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Breach of recognizance
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
It is alleged on Jan. 23, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific Thirteenth Street West business. It is also alleged on this date, the woman attended the Thirteenth Street West business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 18, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with undertaking and three counts of theft under $5,000.
It is alleged on Nov. 13, Nov. 14 and Nov. 15, 2025, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attended specific Second Street East businesses. It is further alleged on these dates, the man attended two separate Second Street East businesses he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the stores without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
On Feb. 18, 2026, the man was located by police at the courthouse. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 18, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order and two counts of theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
It is alleged on Sept. 6 and Sept. 24, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on these dates, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store on both occasions without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is further alleged on Oct. 14, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest on the charges of fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.
On Feb. 18, 2026, the man was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing.

It is alleged on Feb. 8, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is also alleged on Feb. 12, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting.
On Feb. 18, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 26, 2026.
