CORNWALL, ONTARIO – Cornwall’s International Women’s Day show, produced by the Seeker Newspaper, returns to Cornwall. The show, previously marketed as the “I am Woman conference and trade show” is back under a new banner in 2015 after a year sabbatical taken to pause and re-evaluate its direction. The result will be a bigger and bolder version of the event, set to please everyone.
More than 50 exhibitors offering a wide selection of products and services targeted especially for women will be taking over Salons A,B and C of the Civic Complex.
“We are thrilled to be back” says Julia Lucio, Editor of the Seeker and Coordinator for this event. “We have so many things lined up for this year’s show and are really proud to have gotten back to our roots. We decided to look inwards when it came to selecting a guest speaker this year. We have secured Cornwall’s very own Roxanne Delage, photojournalist, musician and artist, who will give a motivational musical talk about life, love and career.”
Beauty, fashion, health, fitness, finances… Everything will be covered. Ladies will be able to get a massage, have their tarot cards read, get beauty tips or sit down for one of our Lightning Talks. Many guest speakers are lined up and will cover topics such as “re-establishing your credit” or “re-integrating the workforce after childbirth”. There will be a ton of fabulous door prizes, as well as goodie bags to be randomly given to ladies visiting throughout the day. “We decided not to give the bags to the first ladies visiting because it doesn’t seem fair to people coming later in the day who pay the same entrance fee”, said Lucio. “The show is from 10 to 4 on a Sunday so we want to give ladies who go to church the same opportunity to grab a goodie bag as any other.
The Seeker is also taking this opportunity to promote other women show happening in the area within a month of one another. “We will be drawing tickets to the Alexandria “Journée de la Femme” and the Vankleek Hill “Yes! Women Can!”, which were graciously donated. We also have purchased two tickets to the Ottawa National Women Show that we will be drawing as well. It makes sense to stick together and help each other as we all have the same goal: empower women.”
The show takes place on March 8th at the Cornwall Civic Complex. Entry $5 adults, $2 Children 12 and under.
Partial proceeds to be donated to SASS for Women and Maison Baldwin House.
