Marketing and branding are essential for companies to reach out to their target audience, engage their existing customers, and build a strong brand image. While there is a wide range of options like images, posters, flyers, and so on, the best and the easiest way to reach a wider audience is through engaging video commercials. This is because video breaks language barriers and the audience can instantly connect with the emotion being conveyed through motion pictures. Over 51 percent of the marketers believe that video generates the best ROI in marketing efforts, and around 87% of online marketers depend significantly on video content.

Work On Your Concept

Shooting a video commercial can be an expensive affair if you are unsure how to take things forward. Have a clear idea of the concept, the target audience, product placement, and the narrative. Building a clear story or having a big idea of what your video ad should look like is the beginning of the video production process. While video production is expensive, you could make it simple with a clear idea and how you wish to execute it. iPhone made a recent commercial for Apple products using an iPhone camera. This showcased the prowess of their phone while promoting their brand and product. It also shows that if your camera is great, you can shoot professional ads even on your phone. So, that’s a cost-effective, creative, and reliable way to brand your product.

Build a Storyboard

Using a storyboard will eliminate any confusion on the shoot day and while editing the final output. You should plan your shots correctly and know where the actors must stand, where the light comes from, where you need to cut, where you need to begin, what props stay in the background, etc. While you might want to narrate an entire story of a family using your product, it is impossible to build that entire universe and still sell your product in 30 seconds to one minute of the ad.

So, identify the important elements of your ad, use a combination of shots, and see which one matches your vision. The storyboard should also include the details on actor expressions, movements, etc. so that the shoot would happen seamlessly. It would help you avoid surprises and confusion on the shoot day and save you ample time.

Use a Call to Action

Ok, you have shot a tremendous ad. It looks like something that would win you The Clio Awards in terms of production quality and messaging. But does it tell your viewer what they need to do after watching the ad? Does it guide them on how they should react after watching the clip? The Call-to-Action in your video advertising is important. Use the last few seconds of your advertising video to ask your customers to act or buy now! Please provide them with the complete information of your website, store details, etc., based on how and where you sell. If you upload the video to Youtube, have links that direct them to the other videos from your brand.
