1. Do Plumbers Charge a Fee for Estimates?

Before answering this question, it’s important to point out that there’s a difference between “estimates” and “quotes.”

On the one hand, an estimate is essentially a guesstimate. A licensed plumber with adequate experience can, such as plumber in aurora, give his opinion on the cost. But it’s only when the plumber can carefully assess the problem – during an onsite visit – that he can figure out the cost.

On the other hand, a licensed plumber offers a quote after he visits your home, assesses the issue, and determines the appropriate measures to be taken. After an onsite visit, the plumber can give you a quote. This quote will be more accurate than an estimate. Usually plumbers don’t charge for estimates. As for the quotes, some plumbers charge for quotes and others don’t.

How Much Do Plumbers Charge Per Hour?

How much does a plumber cost per hour in Canada? Many homeowners – perhaps even yourself – have asked this question. The average per-hour rate ranges from $200 to $300. Of course, some charge more than this and others less.

The cost will increase if the project requires additional materials, such as fixtures or pipes. The work performed, the cost for the materials used, and the amount of time spent working on the job will all factor into how much you pay.

Will Plumbers Perform Service Call at Night?

Licensed plumbers don’t only work during regular business hours. They’re also available for service calls at night, on weekends, and during statutory or civic holidays. Sometimes a plumber will, if you call outside of normal business hours, provide a temporary fix so that you can get by until the morning hours. The plumber will then return to perform a full repair. Other times, a plumber will perform a full repair regardless of the time of day or if it’s a holiday.

A plumber will likely come right away if you experience problems like a burst pipe or a leak. The plumber might advise you, prior to arriving at your home, to shut off your water supply.

Get in Touch for the Help You Need

Those are the answers to the top 3 plumbing questions asked by homeowners. When you experience plumbing problems, get in touch with a professional plumber for the help you need. Trying to do the repair yourself isn’t a great idea since mistakes can worsen the problem.
