What is Home?

Home is the place where we feel safe – the desire to stay – the feeling of belonging – Home is where I stop running.

Here on this benevolent Land – we are all working to build this feeling: home

I share with my friends that my sense of belonging took more space in my heart when I felt welcomed – accepted and loved. I felt that I was throwing away the load of self-defense, throwing the barricades of protection and the preserving survival mood.

It’s a magical feeling to want life and have life want you back.

I feel this feeling on this land (Canada) – a feeling that I am healing – and I spread this feeling around me – The feeling of Healing and joy, by building community connections.

Through my travels to several countries I USED TO SAY I make a home wherever I am – but Canada specifically made a home for me.

I would like to mention here the welcome I received from Senator/Sénatrice Bernadette Clement. When I arrived in Cornwall, she was so interested in knowing me as an individual and getting to know my story. Also thank you to the Artistic community, who have become friends and have welcomed me into their homes and checked on me in times of need.

Here is a heart enlightenment that came to me: we make the feeling that we are at home when we take care of our house and we clean our house together. We take care of our street, our neighbourhood. We love the land and the river – we take care of our neighbours, the children of the neighbourhood – they are all our children.

And we become our best selves when we fall in love and when we begin to love ourselves – giving and taking, healing and love for the land that welcomed us and made us all safe. It’s magic, as if you were carrying the flag of love in your heart.

On Canada Day – I will be supporting the Canada Day Committee at Lamoureux Park with face painting the Canadian flag – the symbol of love – let’s spread love – spread the healing energy!

we shine brighter when we are together, we are all connected, we are here for a reason – make it a beautiful one.
