“We are very pleased to be a major sponsor of this fundraiser”, said Adrienne McEwen, District President. “The Agapè Centre provides much needed assistance for families and children in Cornwall and the surrounding area. We understand the need and the importance of this event and will do all we can to help the Centre achieve or exceed their $25,000 goal”, she added.

The Agapè Centre was founded in 1971 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Agapè is a Greek word that means love and it is with dignity, compassion, openness and respect that they serve those in need in their community. It is Cornwall’s largest food bank and only regular soup kitchen.

The Centre welcomes people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, abilities, religions, genders, and orientations, as well as anyone experiencing mental or physical health issues or struggling with addiction. They believe everyone deserves to be treated in a fair and equal manner.

OSSTF is a strong, independent, socially active union that promotes and advances the cause of public education and the rights of students, educators and educational workers. To find out more visit their website.
