Nick Lalonde Hat Trick leads Cornwall Colts to Victory

Cornwall Ontario – Nick Lalonde had a hat trick and added two assists as the Cornwall Colts got by Cumberland 5-4 at the Ed Lumley Arena Thursday night.

Nick Lalonde now has a team leading 31 goals on the season as the Cornwall Colts improved to 39-13-4-3 for 85 points. The Cornwall Colts remain tied for 2nd overall in the CCHL with the Ottawa Jr. Senators. The Jr. Sens own the tie breaker.

Jeremy McFarlane (12) and David Poirier (3) also scored for the Colts. Tanner Spink chipped in with two assists.

Cumberland outshot the Colts 48-27 with Liam Lascelle making 44 saves for his 28th victory of the season.

The Wendy’s Restaurant Three Stars were First Star Nick Lalonde (COR), Second Star Martin Frechette (CUM) and Third Star Brennan Markell.

The Colts and Grads finish their home and home series Friday night in Cumberland. Game time is 7:30pm at the Navan Arena.

Cornwall will play the Jr Senators in Ottawa next Wednesday, March 8th.

The Colts play their final regular season home game next Thursday, March 9th vs the Gloucester Rangers. Game time is 7:30pm at the Ed Lumley Arena.
