Cornwall, Ontario – Cornwall Transit is proud to announce that real-time bus tracking is now available with Transit, the appfor real-time bus information and trip planning. Transit, the most popular transport app in North America, already counts millions of active users in more than 200 cities worldwide and is now available for Cornwall Transit riders who are now able to track their bus in real-time.
Upon launching the app, riders see nearby transit options and departure in big text and bright colours. Users can easily navigate the region, aided by real-time bus ETAs, trip planning, up-to-the-minute services alerts, step-by-step navigation and crowdsourced real-time bus information with Transit’s GO feature.
Cornwall Transit’s partnership with Transit offers a comprehensive, easy-to-use and widely-adopted app for riders. Under this agreement, Cornwall will be able to better serve the public with the ability to send important route information directly to riders via Transit’s home screen.
“We are so excited to equip Cornwall Transit riders with a free mobile app that will make riding the bus easier and more efficient,” said Manager Len Tapp. “It’s been a great year for Cornwall Transit, with the addition of voice and visual systems that announce next stops.
“This new partnership with Transit, a free app used throughout the country, is another important step towards a bus service that’s customer-driven.”
By endorsing Transit as its official app, Cornwall Transit joins dozens of other agencies across North America that have partnered with Transit, including Montreal’s STM and Gatineau’s STO.
“Partnering with a single app that prioritizes transit makes it clear to riders where they can go for information,” said David Block-Schachter, Chief Business Officer of Transit. “We’re excited to work with Cornwall Transit and to see more people using Transit as part of their daily routine.”
