The City of Cornwall’s pop-up shops are scheduled to re-open June 14!
Artists, artisans, small business owners, and non-profits can now book a pop-up online.
All three containers are located at the Cornwall Square Parkette, at the corner of Pitt Street and First Street.
The pop-up shops made waves when they opened in 2020.
“Our Pop-Up program was a huge success last summer and staff have been looking forward to launching an even better program this spring,” says Mr. James Fawthrop, Manager of Facilities and Recreation. “Businesses and community groups are now able to reserve and pay for their Pop-Up online using our new PerfectMind software.”
“I’m pleased to see this program return for another year,” said Mayor Bernadette Clement. “Local businesses have been hit hard by closures – necessary closures that help slow the spread of COVID-19. Now, restrictions permitting, the City of Cornwall can offer an affordable venue for sales and safe community interaction.”
The short-term rentals are available for $35 +HST a day. Some restrictions exist: commercial beauty products, food and beverage, resident garage sales, and personal care services are not permitted.
The first available date is June 14 because the City expects outdoor retail activities, like pop-up shops, will be permitted by provincial COVID-19 legislation at this time. However, regulations and timelines may change. If your booking is affected by a COVID-19 regulation change, City staff will contact you to reschedule within the same month. There is no cost to reschedule and full refunds are available.
