[Cornwall, ON]: Local entrepreneurs Dale and Penny Rudderham are excited to announce they are now helming one of Cornwall’s legacy businesses, Brunet Monuments. The acquisition was finalized on October 1, 2021.

Established in 1985 by Pierre ‘Pete’ Brunet and his late father, Jean-Louis Brunet, Brunet Monuments has offered the sales and service of granite monuments, columbariums, and benches, as well as engraving from their location at 484 Pitt Street.

“We are honoured and excited that Pete entrusted us with his business,” says Penny Rudderham, the new co-owner. “We look forward to building on the legacy he has established and making sure we can continue helping preserve the unique stories of loved ones.”

The Rudderhams, known as The HomeGeeks – eXp Realty Brokerage, had originally planned on purchasing the building only. Following discussion and negotiation, the pair was offered the seasonal business as well, which they proudly accepted.

Pierre Brunet Jr. will continue in his role as Service Manager and the new owners intend to maintain the same great service and quality of products. They also plan to expand product lines including “green” options, pet memorials, and etched monument portraits. Renovations to the building and digital upgrades including online ordering are currently underway.

July 4, 2024 requested that Brunet Monuments re-tint background of cross on my Grandparents monument in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Lancaster, ON. They were very easy to work with and did fantastic high quality work on a 65 year old monument. Highly recommend them to everyone.
