Yesterday I was informed of an event taking place at the Cornwall Square, a fundraiser for animal rescues, so I went over to check it out. This great informative event is on again today, so if you’re looking for something to do, head over to the Cornwall Square from 11am to 4am to check it out. Maybe you will even come home with a Fur Baby if you are interested in adopting!

The event organizer, Laurie St. Pierre, Administrator of Cornwall Square, was the first person I met. She told me that she put this event together, in the Marketplace on the first floor, to draw some attention to Animal Rescues in the area as well as some wonderful vendors, many of who were selling articles relating to pets. It is also a way to bring people into the Shopping Mall which is now locally owned so I’m sure you will be seeing a lot more community connections made here from now on.

In front of Laurie were baskets of goodies, some donated by the vendors and some by the stores in Cornwall Square. Come and purchase a ticket for a chance to win one of these with proceeds going to the animal rescues present.

Inside the MarketPlace, there was plenty of activity especially around the animal adoption areas.

Making my way around, I visited with:

rbt

CATTRAP, Lending out traps and carriers. For more info contact Mary Jane (seen in photo above) at 613-362-8059 and check out the art at her booth. $5 a painting with proceeds going to help with the organization.

Cats and Cakes of New Eden had many items on display – www.newedenvegan.com/street-cats or visit them on Facebook.com/catcakesmontreal

The cutest dog met me at the next booth, accompanied by her human of course!!! Kelly’s Kitchen had a table full of homemade human and doggy treats. Check out the goodies at www.facebook.com/kellysk9kreations1/

Next we had a booth of clothing items and beside that was Roy and Cher’s Rescue Farm, (photo below) assisting animals rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment throughout Eastern Ontario and Southern Quebec. The ladies had pets to adopt and you can get more info at www.royandcher.org

So come and check out these wonderful organizations and vendors at Cornwall Square from 11am to 4pm, today (Sunday, February 13th) and maybe pick up a Valentine’s Pressie for your fur baby (or human) at the same time!

Sorry the 2 plants at Roy and Cher’s booth were already adopted/purchased by me with one gifted to my mother but there are plenty more pressies to choose from at these wonderful vendors’ booths and as I mentioned, if you are looking for a pet to adopt, you may be able to bring home a Fur Baby and give it a Fur-ever home!!!! The show is on from 11am to 4pm today…

Wishing you all a “Happy Valentine’s Day” tomorrow!
