Soaring High: Cornwall Regional Airport – Your Local Gateway to the Sky

Ever dreamed of flying? Or perhaps you’re just intrigued by the aviation world? Lucky for you, South Glengarry houses the Cornwall Regional Airport, a small local hub offering an array of services from pilot training to medical emergency transfers and search and rescue operations. It’s a gem in our community and a gateway to the open skies!

A Canadian “Point of Entry”

Not only a local airstrip but the Cornwall Regional Airport is also recognized as a “Point of entry” into Canada. It comes equipped with Canada Border agents on duty, ready to welcome incoming foreign travellers.

History and Location

Operating since 1984 and formerly known as the Cornwall/Summerstown airport from 1973 to 1984, this airport is conveniently located on Airport Road, just south of Highway 401, and east of Summerstown Road. It boasts one runway, a fueling station, and aircraft maintenance services ready for when you need them.

Your Dreams Taking Flight

Two flight schools and the Cornwall Flying Club, associated with the COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association), call this airport home. They host a KIDS event that gives children their first flight experience on a small plane. Who knows, your next flight to a dream vacation might be piloted by someone who received their training right here!

Recreational and Commercial Purpose

Own your own plane? You’re welcome to use the airport for recreational purposes. There’s also a commercial hangar available for a long-term lease. You can always drop by and watch the planes take off and land. It’s quite the spectacle!
