For those who fondly remember the lyrics about the vibrant coasts of Newfoundland and the rhythmic beats that defined a generation, this musical event promises to be a wonderful experience. Celebrating three decades since The Great Big Sea burst onto the music scene, Séan McCann, also known as “The Shantyman,” will regale the audience with hilarious tales, share personal stories, and perform traditional favorites that many grew up with.

Great Big Sea left an indelible mark on Canadian folk music, and Séan McCann played a pivotal role in creating the band’s signature sound.

“My fondest memories (playing with Great Big Sea) are all from the very early days when it was just the 4 of us (with Darrell Power on bass) and we did everything by ourselves. We didn’t have an agent or a manager or a label, but we were still a force to be reckoned with. I am very proud of what we were able to accomplish when we were all working together towards the same goal,” Séan McCann said in a 2015 interview with THe Seeker.

McCann’s musical talent and charismatic stage presence have been known to evoke powerful emotions in audiences. This immersive experience at Aultsville Theatre promises to do just that, sparking nostalgia and creating new memories for all who attend.

Tickets for Séan McCann are available at the City of Cornwall Box office locations or by phone at 613-938-9400. To secure your spot at this unforgettable event, visit the Cornwall Aquatic Centre at 100 Water Street East or the Benson Centre at 800 Seventh Street West on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note that tickets purchased at the City of Cornwall Box Office locations are subject to a $1.50 per ticket facility fee.

For those who prefer to wait, a limited number of tickets will also be available at the Aultsville Theatre Box Office one hour before showtime, subject to availability. However, considering the high demand for this event, it is recommended to secure tickets in advance.

Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to relive the magic of Canadian folk music with one of its most iconic figures. Join Séan McCann at Aultsville Theatre on October 21st, 2023, at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM) for a night that will leave you with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
