Cornwall and Area Job Fair featuring Skills Ontario – Transportation and Language Support

The Social Development Council of Cornwall (SDC) and Area’s Employability Network is hosting the 2024 Cornwall and Area Job Fair featuring Skills Ontario.on Wednesday April 24th at the Cornwall Civic Complex in Salons A, B and C. The event day will host 2 sessions for job seekers to attend and meet with over 70  local employers and service providers. From 10:00am to 1:00pm and from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. 

This year’s event will feature transportation from across the region to accommodate residents from Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Akwesasne and Cornwall.

We will have a bus picking up registered attendees from the following locations. 

  • Alexandria (GIAG 580 Main St S) 
  • Lancaster (Flying J 20382 Old Hwy 2)
  • Winchester (Joel Steele Community Centre 577 Main St W) 
  • Morrisburg (Valu-Mart Shopping Plaza) 
  • Ingleside (FoodLand Shopping Plaza)
  • Long Sault (Pharmasave Shopping Plaza) 
  • Akwesasne (A’nowara’ko:wa Arena 36 Philip Hopps Memorial Rd)

Residents in Cornwall can hop on Cornwall Transit for a free ride if they mention they are heading to the job fair. 

Also new this year is language support. We will have volunteers on hand that speak the following languages to help job seekers engage with employer if there is a language barrier:  English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Turkish, Kurdish, Tagalog, Cebuano, Gurunsi, Mooré (Mossi), Bambara, Dagaare, and Dyula.

This job fair is made possible by our sponsors; Skills Ontario, WCG and Employment Ontario, Cornwall Economic Development Department, Eastern Ontario Training Board, Newcomer Employment & Welcome Services, St-Lawrence College Student Union, Akwesasne Career and Employment Support Services, City of Cornwall, SDG Counties, Job Zone d’ Emploi, and Glengarry Interagency Group.
